SarasWitty – JD Design Awards 2024

Anshul Rander, a student of the BSC in Fashion Design program at the JD Institute of Fashion Technology Bangalore, has created a brand new collection named “SarasWitty”, and won the “Fashion for Empowerment Award” at the JD Design Awards 2024. This collection, which is inspired loosely by the Hindu goddess Saraswati and symbolizes knowledge, arts, and language, is actually not clothing but a symbol of strength, right from the women leaders.

ILLUSTRATIONS

The name SarasWitty originates from the goddess Saraswati, who is symbolized as the goddess of wisdom. It is she who is the embodiment of learning and invention, who can help people find the truth and shed light even on the blackest acts. They iconographically incorporate Lotus, Veena, Swan, and the four armed Saraswati as subliminals within the repository of the collection.

To reiterate, Anshul Rander has made sure that each of the items in the set implements such values. Ivory terry wool is primarily incorporated as the main fabric as it represents Saraswati’s innocence. Golden touches are applied here to depict the essence of womanhood and its strength. The designs bear the sex appeal of today’s modern armor for women, who are powerful and unyielding while being truthful. Subtle pleats come to mind as the word wisdom and the main ingredient of every joke—the funny bone.

SarasWitty corresponds to the world presented in the theme of a futuristic reality where people actively seek power and money. In this grim-souled future, the collection looks like a ray of reason and peace. It urges the people to listen to the words of Saraswati and select knowledge and good behavior over avarice and cruelty. Through wearing these clothes, women can feel that they want to embrace protection; they are wearing armor and being dressed up modernly while being strong and wise.

The collection employs fabrics such as PolyWool Suiting Fabric and Brocade, which are durable and, more importantly, fashionable. Saraswati’s normal dress codes prompted the use of the colors, with ivory symbolizing strength and gold for purity. It is fairly simple, so it is suitable for day-to-day use and belongs to the women’s collection in the Pert Wear category. It tells us that in a world that is always full of obstacles, one should stick to its principles and think to be able to orient. In a world where chaos and greed are common, SarasWitty: The Knowledge Wars therefore reminds people of the need to be wise and right. Hence, inspired by Goddess Saraswati, this collection successfully presents hope and courage, asserting that truth and knowledge will triumph.
