“Tapestry of Time” by Labdhi N. Kothari will design three different types of spaces for the hospital, each representing a time. The vision provokes an ambience respecting historic medical achievements, creating collaboration in the present, and laying the basis for innovations in the future. First, there will be the Medical Museum space, which will attribute great milestones of medicine that shaped modern healthcare through discovery, main instruments, and practices. Respect for medicine’s past and pioneers is what drives it. The second space is the Biophilic

Discussion Room; it has a modern and innovative design by managing to get free of the traditional set-up of fixed tables and fixed chairs and to marry futuristic design with the principles of biophilic design in conjuring up an exciting and serene setting for collaboration. The design was oriented towards enabling harmony and free flow between the natural landscape, live plants, water features, and natural lighting to encourage well-being and creativity. The Advanced Research Laboratory will be a third space—futuristic and functional—fully equipped with the latest technology to motivate innovation and scientific breakthroughs. The design is a result of a desire to create a technologically advanced environment that supports the exceptional work that will take place in the Advanced Research Laboratory.

The “Tapestry of Time” project gives way to the theme of adaptive living spaces by creating elements that accommodate the different periods and functionalities within the hospital. To promote calm and reflection, the Medical Museum uses neutral colour tones with simple interiors. The Biophilic Discussion Room is characterised by natural features, including vegetation and water features, and intelligent controls for environmental care.

The Advanced Research Laboratory will be focused on the main basis of neutral colours with accents of cool tones, high-grade stainless steel, and advanced polymers. This project falls under healthcare design—adaptive places in hospitals that enhance the total environment. Labdhi N. Kothari’s “Tapestry of Time” is a testament to innovative, sensitive design principles capable of fostering healthcare environments most conducive to healing, collaboration, and discovery.
