“Digi-Dragons” seeks to demystify the sometimes overwhelming experience of the hospital for children. To remove some drabness from the setting, the project intends to add interactive holographic screens in hospital rooms to transform the environment. The thoughts behind it are to leverage holographic technology in providing immersive experiences to engage minds about medical procedures and help comfort and educate them.

The brief instigated the idea of making the rooms of the hospital friendlier and less intimidating for a child’s comfort. This project plans to turn any conventional setting of a hospital into an interactive adventure space full of soothing visuals through holographic screens. These holographic screens will be embedded with interactive games, calming scenes of underwater worlds or starry night skies, and educational materials containing virtual visits to the rest of the hospital or interactive anatomy lessons that will make learning part of the experience while one is at the hospital.

It depicts its futuristic theme through the use of cutting-edge holographic technology. Interactive holograms have been incorporated into the design to transport patients to another world and make the surroundings playfully engaging. In this project, advanced holographic screens and projectors will be used and can be easily put into use in a hospital room design. Calming colour palettes will have light base colours like pale blue or light green, accented with bright, cheerful hues, from yellow to orange and teal. It has soft, rounded furniture and light, modern design elements that can bring comfort and playfulness into the room.

The project is part of the paediatric hospital design and is oriented to make the hospital more interactive and less intimidating to the little patients. State-of-the-art holographic technology is implemented in the project to make a child’s visit to the hospital much more interactive and educational, full of comfort. The “Digi-Dragons” project offers the first step towards paediatric hospital design by merging advanced technology with tender care to render the experience of the young patient less stressful and full of joy.
