Navratri is a nine-night festival. On these nights Goddess Durga is worshipped in her various divine forms. All these divine forms symbolize strength, protection, and purity. This is a celebration of the feminine divine power and the triumph of good over evil, while commemorating the victory of righteousness, as embodied in Goddess Durga’s victory over the demon Mahishasura.
At JD School of Design powered by JD Institute of Fashion Technology, we work to develop our students towards embracing the diverse culture and work towards building a sense of community and creativity. This year we couldn’t wait to bring the holiday spirit to life as we celebrated Navratri with an extravagant Garba celebration exclusively by our students.
Garba: The Vibrant Beats, Joyful Energy and Graceful Twirls
Gujarat, a birthplace of the classic Garba dance. People celebrate this festival with vibrant beats, joyful energy, and graceful twirls. JD School of Design got an opportunity to host a Garba event in which the students could bring out their creativity.
The Jediiian Design Council at JD School of Design was proud to host a Garba night on the 9th of October 2024 as part of their Navratri celebrations. The events began with the story telling of the importance of the festival and the richness of the rituals associated with it. A soothing Saraswati Puja was conducted to invoke the blessings of wisdom and creativity. The audience were treated with a very enjoyable and spirited performance of group dance that set the stage for a great Garba night.
At JD School of Design, the students are taught to be creative futuristic leaders and they take up whatever opportunity to showcase their talent through dance and vibrant outfits of Navratri. It brings in a feeling of togetherness, unity, and cultural pride amongst one and all on such an occasion. This will enable the students to respect our traditions while challenging them to express their creative spirits. This will enable them to maintain a perfect balance of education along with proper enrichment of culture and make their college experience more colourful and joyful.
Let’s celebrate this festive season full of joy, colours, and creativity.
