Indraja S. and Somsolay Sonia, students of BSC Fashion Design at JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore, have curated a new fashion collection called ‘Snake Sages’. Consider a planet in the year 2147 where a hidden organization of magical Mayans rules everything. The collection is inspired by the powerful and mysterious energy of the snake, which represents life, health, rebirth and spiritual transformation. Let’s dive into this enchanting world and explore how these designs combine ancient wisdom with futuristic style.

Kundalini Yoga The concept of Kundalini energy has a major influence on the design of the “Serpent Sages”.Many spiritual traditions consider the snake as a symbol of divine feminine energy, representing power, strength and power. In Hinduism, the snake represents eternity, life, death and reincarnation. The idea behind the collection is that in the future a group of powerful serpents, mostly women, have acquired kundalini energy.
This allows them to change between their snake form and human body form, blending into and influencing society from the shadows.Each piece in the collection reflects this magical transformation, with designs that are both elegant and powerful. The flowing fabrics and intricate details evoke the graceful movement of a snake while also symbolising the wearer’s inner strength and spiritual awakening.

The theme “Serpent Sages” is part of the spiritual journey to awakening your Kundalini energy, and I wanted this collection to feel like that magical process of transformation experienced by those who have awakened it for themselves. The serpent is the essence of divine feminine energy and that reflects in the drapes and silhouettes. Each drape is intricately crafted, keeping in mind an approach to sophisticated style that can also be versatile. This collection represents the resilience and strength of this energy making a statement in every outfit.
The choice of fabrics plays an instrumental role in portraying this idea beautifully. Crepes and crinkled crepes give a luxe yet easy feel, while at the same time allowing you to move around effortlessly just like how agile a serpent is! Interesting metal embellishments and wearable technology stand out as signs of modernity, reflecting how elegant Serpent Sages always are. The colours and surface developments are all chosen by being extremely particular as to what adds on to the mysticism, echoing shades and patterns that speak for both grace and might reflected through the Serpents.
